Re: Help Compiling Mudlet

Mosr compiled Mudlet from my guide...

That makes me so happy.

:]

Edit: Actually, I'm really glad to see all of you who have compiled it from my guide. I wasn't sure if that long night of coffee and cigs and Ubuntu was actually going to be useful to anyone.

Re: Howto: Compile Mudlet on Ubuntu

Thanks for posting that with the fix as well. No change needs to be made in the guide then, heh. As per http://forums.mudlet.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1775 if you run into problems while using ATI video cards (either with poor performance, mapper crashes, or X Window Server crashing while using Mu...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 crash

Sorry..

Also try finding your Xorg log files, which would be somewhere like /var/log/Xorg.#.log

We'll see if that offers some clues.

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 crash

hi nexa33 firstly - I have not used mudlet's ppa repository on ubuntu. My first attempt to use it resulted in a buggy client, and I didn't try again after that. I would highly recommend building mudlet from source - it's pretty easy to do on ubuntu 10.10, and is likely going to result in a faster, m...

Re: "fix new text to be on eits own line" - option

hi tarrant - GA stands for 'go-ahead' and the GA-signal is a way for remote servers to signal to the terminal that it is time to pass control to the user --> there's nothing else to output, take input now. now days, depending on server implementation, GA signals may be required on both ends of the c...

Re: Linux build instructions

Instructions for compiling Mudlet on Ubuntu found here (http://forums.mudlet.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1750) addressed this issue as well. However, I supplied: liblua5.1-rex-pcre-dev & liblua5.1-sql-sqlite3-dev I'm pretty sure Ubuntu automatically grabbed the two you listed as part of those de...

Re: MXP

Oh, well I was actually remarking how Newxusnew and Revelation are similar in that regard.

I don't think Rev uses any graphical displays outside of regular controls found in MSVC 6.0.

Re: MXP

Crossover... You are using Mac? Weird. I really expected you to be on Linux. =P I got it to run on Linux under WINE. (Actually, I've gotten -everything- to run in Wine. A buddy and I forked a distro a while back specifically for running Linux on Apple's iPod music players. Long story short: I got Wo...

Re: MXP

Hmm, looks to me like -- with the new nexus client you linked to -- IRE is trying to make a Revelation-style interface to the games. Why bother with fancy, expensive GUIs when simple text-boxes can list vital character information? Edit: If you don't know what Revelation is, check out http://www.kal...
