Try the upcoming version of Mudlet - Public Test Builds!

Post by Vadi »

Would you like to try out the latest, shiny, not-yet-released version of Mudlet? You definitely can, grab your copy here.

These builds are updated nighly with the latest improvements to Mudlet and give you a chance to play around with and give your feedback on upcoming features in the next update.

If you're a script author, or just a regular player, it also gives you a chance to help test the next version of Mudlet to ensure regressions don't happen! While we test every improvement that comes to Mudlet, having more eyes on quality will naturally increase the net that finds any bugs trying to sneak in.

If you're already running a PTB version, big thank you! There's a special icon to enjoy:

No available Windows PTBs! -> Re: Try the upcoming version of Mudlet - Public Test Builds!

I assume you are already aware that there are no more downloadable PTBs for Windows (which is a pity as they contain some features/fixes the official build is lacking).

It seems there are also only very, very few windows builds of branches and PRs. Looks like there is something wrong with the automatic Windows builds or they are at least delayed too much.

I just noticed that MSP is no longer working in the current Windows64 test builds. However, it works with the Windows32 version. It seems to affect all W64bit PTB builds currently available, I tested many to find the version were it broke. W32 and the older ptb w/o a 32/64 designation seem to work.

This is by using MSP over the telnet opt side channel and downloading the media files by https, here a wav file. I can't tell yet if "main channel" MSP with triggers would work, if it depends on the media type. etc.

This is on a Windows 10 client, 64bit, of course.

You can try yourself connecting to mud.tap.de:2000 login as guest, say "yes" to login as a guest and then enter "set sound test" . You should hear a ping or boing sound.

If you want this in a separate thread, an issue created, etc. Please remove/move this msg and drop me a note. I just wanted to bring it to your attention as I fear it might be a substantial issue affecting many people.
